The University of St Andrews celebrated its 600th anniversary in 2011.
Francis is a proud alumnus and took a series of portraits of honorary degree recipients for the university during that year.
He also photographed all of the first years during 'Raisin Monday' a foam-filled initiation into the university during their first term. (Showing a small selection here.)
Francis had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when he was invited to photograph the FRENCH FOREIGN LEGION in Africa and France for a book and a documentary. Here is a small selection from the project.
Francis' mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor.
Clothing Immaterial - a series of portraits of women and men, some survivors, most just supporters for a friend or relative, literally bared themselves in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
These are a small selection of nearly 200 sitters who kindly gave their time for this project.
Francis was guest photographer on Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Scandinavia's Next Top Model TV shows. Francis was resident photographer for Sweden's Next Top Model. Francis also made an appearance as guest host/photographer on TLC's Covershot.
Alan Cumming and I have had a wonderful collaborative photo relationship and friendship since 2003. When I first picked up a camera in 2002, I wrote to Alan when he was appearing in an off-Broadway show asking to take his picture. The rest is, as they say, history! A couple of years ago I put together a magazine of my work - with a bunch of behind-the-scenes information as well as different projects I'd been working on. It was put together by the very talented Greg Welch. It still looks great, even after a few years! :) Click on the image to visit the magazine. Enjoy!
